I have had the pleasure of chartering many times with Captain Bobby Bourquin and have never been disappointed. Not only does Bobby put you on the fish but he educates you about fishin'.  Several years ago when Captain Bobby Bourquin was running charters out of Island Harbor Marina in Emerald Isle three of my friends and I had the pleasure of fishing with him for king mackerel within site of the water tanks of Bogue Banks where the town of Emerald Isle, NC is located. We only had scheduled a half day charter, and were well on our way to limiting out when our time was up. We all wished we could have continued for the rest of the day, and we would have but for the fact that one of my friends had very bad rheumatoid arthritis and was not taking the motion of the boat well. We were favorably impressed by Captain Bobby's readily apparent knowledge of charter fishing. From catching fresh live bait to putting out rigs, putting us on and catching good fish! Also his friendly manner, love of fishing and enthusiasm were truly outstanding! Soon after our charter, Captain Bobby had to give up running charters to take care of his business ventures in the auto sales business with his father and starting a family. He is now in a position to resume chartering trips on a part time basis and I am truly glad as I look forward to fishing with him on the new boat in the near future. I whole heartedly recommend Captain Bobby. On a scale of 1 to 10, he is an 11 !!!

I have fished the Swansboro, Emerald Isle, and Crystal Coast area now for over 20 years and have used several of the fine local charter boat captains in that time. I have caught Kings and Amberjack and many other species with his light tackle, live bait style. He knows the local events in the area and even gave me a heads up one year to go look for the sea turtles to hatch, that happened the next night near the Bogue Inlet Pier! How awesome is that!
